The All-Time Series (N.C. Central) –
RMU and N.C. Central have met just once on the volleyball court prior to Friday's opener, with the Colonials earning a 3-0 win over the Eagles Sept. 9, 2006, in Boiling Springs, N.C., as part of the Gardner-Webb Tournament. In that match former outside hitter Emily Wolthuis (2004-08) posted a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs, while former middle Janette Schneider (2003-06) also tallied 11 kills to go along with four blocks and three service aces.

The All-Time Series (Campbell) – The Colonials and Camels have met three times prior to Friday's tilt, with Campbell owning a 2-1 (.667) advantage in the all-time series. In the last meeting between the two programs in Blacksburg, Va., the Camels posted a 3-1 win over RMU as part of the Hokie Invitational. Former outside Taylor Lord (2015-18) posted a double-double against Campbell in the last meeting with 13 kills and 11 digs.

The All-Time Series (The Citadel) – RMU and The Citadel have met just twice prior to Saturday's finale with the Fairfield Inn and Suites Dunn Campbell Invitational, with the two program's having split the previous two meetings. RMU earned a 3-0 win in DeLand, Fla., back in 2008, while The Citadel earned a 3-2 win over the Colonials in Charleston, S.C., in 2016. In the last meeting, the trio of Arden Fisher (16), Taylor Lord (15) and Leah Dunivan (13) combined for 44 kills.

Balanced Attack – A key reason RMU is off to a 6-3 start to the 2022 campaign is due to a balanced lineup. Five different Colonials have combined for 12 double-doubles through the first nine matches of the season, including three each from junior outside hitter Annie Monaco and sophomore setter Ashleigh Wallin. Joining those two with double-doubles this season is freshman setter Kaitlyn Brown, sophomore outside Ally Christman and junior outside Abby Ryan, as each have recorded a pair. Ryan established a career high in digs (24) in a 3-1 win over North Alabama (9/9), while later that day Christman set an RMU single-match high for kills (20) in a 3-2 triumph @ Morehead State (9/9).

Dig Me Out – Senior Allena Carmody has earned spots on the all-tournament team in each of RMU's last two invitationals as she continues to be a force for the Colonials on the back line. During RMU's five-match winning streak, Carmody has appeared in 22 sets and has compiled 91 digs, an average of 4.14 per set. Included in that stretch is an RMU single-match high 28 in a 3-2 win over Morehead State (9/9). Overall on the 2022 campaign Carmody, who ranks ninth in the Horizon League in digs per set (3.65), has racked up 135 across 37 sets. She is looking to become the second student-athlete for the Colonials to join the RMU 1,000-Dig Club in as many years. Based on a four-set match, Carmody, who owns 783 career digs, would need to average 2.58 digs per set through the remaining 21 matches of the 2022 regular season to become the 14th RMU student-athlete in program history with 1,000 career digs.
