Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU men's and women's cross country teams continued the 2022 season Friday, hosting the second annual RMU Invitational in Clinton, Pa., at Youthtowne.
WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
RMU finished sixth, compiling a point total of 126 at Youthtowne. Seton Hill (44) won the team title, followed by Edinboro (52), Carnegie Mellon (58), Clarion (109) and Duquesne (113).
SEASON DEBUT
In her season debut, sophomore
Grace Mason led the Colonials individually, finishing 14th thanks to a time of 24:49.0 in the six-kilometer course. Earning the individual crown was Kylie Anicic of Edinboro, who crossed in a 22:37.0.
BUILDING BLOCKS
Each of the top nine runners for RMU Friday are underclassmen. In addition to the performance from Mason, rookie
Ava Lottig took home a top 25 finish thanks to a time of 25:30.0. Finishing in the top 30 were sophomore
Laura Croco (25:44.0) and freshman
Julia Dill (25:51.0), while freshman
Samantha Thomas recorded a time of 26:03.0.

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
The Colonials posted a finish of third at the RMU Invitational, compiling a total of 88 points. Carnegie Mellon (21) claimed the team title, followed by Edinboro (34). Rounding out the field was Duquesne (121) and Seton Hill (129).
FRESH LEGS
For the second consecutive meet to open the year a rookie led the way for the Colonials, with freshman Tyler Paszkowski recording a time of 26:52.17 in the eight-kilometer course. He finished 15th. Taking home the individual title was Ward Reis of Edinboro, who finished with a time of 25:50.0.
THE FIELD
RMU placed a total of six runners in the top 30, each of which are underclassmen. In addition to Paszkowski, sophomore Skylar Vavro was the second harrier for the Colonials to cross the finish line, notching a time of 27:11.0 to finish 21st. He was followed by rookies Colten Morris (27:14.0) and Ryan Paris (27:30.0), sophomore Luke Byrne (28:03.0) and freshman Chris McGlynn (28:55.0).
