Moon Township, Pa. – The Robert Morris University men's soccer team extended its winning streak to three-consecutive games after a 1-0 shutout victory over Saint Francis in non-conference action at the North Athletic Complex on Wednesday afternoon.

With the win, the Colonials improve to 3-3-0 overall this season. Meanwhile, the Red Flash drop to 3-3-1 this year. Robert Morris is victorious in three-straight games for the first time since the 2016 campaign.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Just 40 seconds into the match, the Colonials recorded a shot and a corner kick before junior Chase Gilley found the right side of the net in the 3rd minute, to give Robert Morris a 1-0 lead. The Red Flash looked to answer in the 18th minute when Tobi Joseph fired a shot on goal that was saved by sophomore goalkeeper Friedrich Petrelli. Both teams combined for six shots in the opening half. In the final frame, Robert Morris looked to extend its lead as junior Logan Gilley and sophomore Connor Hain had opportunities, but unfortunately saw both shots sail high and left. The Colonials controlled a majority of the second half as they held the Red Flash to just three shots, two of them coming in the 80th and 81st minute.

GAME WINNER
Robert Morris continued to have good spacing at the beginning of the match, which opened up scoring opportunities. The winning tally came at the 2:54-mark, when Chase Gilley found the right side of the net for his team leading fourth goal, after a give-and-go sequence. The Gilley brothers were able to get into open field as Chase Gilley pushed a ball towards Logan Gilley, who served up a pass to the left side of the box for the game winner.

"Pleased to get a win and a shutout," said head coach Jason O'Keefe. "It was a hard-fought game which we learned a lot from. We need to recover, refocus and get ready for a challenging Horizon League game vs Purdue Fort Wayne."
