Moon Township, Pa. – A total of 92 RMU student-athletes across 10 sports were named to the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll Monday for the 2022 fall semester.
To be eligible for the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must participate in at least one of the league's 19 sponsored sports during the most recent (or current) season, have completed three semesters (four quarters where applicable) and own a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.20 on a 4.00 scale.
Leading the Colonials was the men's soccer team, which placed 17 student-athletes on the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll. The RMU softball program had 16 student-athletes earn a spot on the honor roll, followed by women's soccer and women's track & field (15 each), volleyball (10), women's basketball (8), men's golf (4), women's cross country (3) and men's cross country and men's basketball (2 each).
Among the 17 student-athletes named to the Horizon League Honor Roll for the 2022 fall season from men's soccer is junior
Kelvin Ramirez, who has posted a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA as a psychology major and is a two-time member of the All-Horizon League Academic Team (2021, 2022).
Also having posted a perfect 4.00 GPA is junior
Jane Garver of the softball team, who is an organizational leadership major, and
Parker Johnson of men's golf, who studies marketing. For the RMU volleyball team, sophomore
Jaidan Hockman, a sport management major, has recorded a 3.99 cumulative GPA, while junior
Emma Brown has notched a 3.98 GPA while studying cybersecurity & digital forensics.
A total of
1,274 student-athletes earned Horizon League Academic Honor Roll distinction during the 2022 fall semester, with all 11 member institutions and 19 league sponsored sports represented. Women's soccer led all sports with the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll with 179 student-athletes, followed by women's cross country and track & field with 167.
