Janelle Evans were awarded with weekly honors, announced by the league office today, Monday afternoon.
Giannone for the second time this season has earned Offensive Player of the Week honors. Evans was tabbed Rookie of the Week for her performance this past weekend.
In the home opener series, hosting Saint Anselm, Giannone continued producing points as she posted two, three-point efforts against the Hawks.
From Oakville, Ontario, she was all over the ice, chipping in offensively on half the goals RMU scored over the weekend. Throwing 16 shots at the net, Giannone scored two goals and dished out four assists across two games, leading her team to two wins.
She's currently the leader in goals (4), assists (6) and points (10) in the College Hockey America conference.
Out of Bethune, Saskatchewan,
Janelle Evans had a successful series as well, scoring two goals and three assists against Saint Anselm. Through four games on the year, she's produced at least one point in each game, totaling three goals, four assists and seven points to begin her collegiate career.
After two weekends, Evans ranks first in the CHA out of all freshmen in points.
Up next, the Colonials will head out to New Jersey for an away series. They'll play at Princeton on Friday, October 13 at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 14 at 1:00 p.m.
