Moon Township, Pa. – The Colonials returned to the UPMC Events Center and picked up a dominating win over Penn State Beaver, 89-39. With the win, the RMU women's basketball team improves to 2-3 overall while the Nittany Lions dropped to 2-6 on the season.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
The Colonials opened the game on fire from the field as RMU shot just over 73 percent on 11 made baskets to start the action.
Danielle Vuletich scored eight of her 18 points in the first frame and went on a 6-0 run of her own in the first quarter.
Paris Kirk was a presence down low in the first frame as she had seven consecutive points for RMU to close out the first quarter.
The Nittany Lions shot just 23 percent (3-of-13) in the first quarter and tallied only six made field goals in the first half which gave the Colonials room to operate. The Colonials had a 57-17 halftime lead which was their largest lead of the season to date and their largest lead against any opponent since the Waynesburg contest last season.
TEAM WIN
In this contest, the Colonials used every one of their players at their disposal as
Eden Monka,
Hattie McGraw, and
Madison O'Dell all played the most minutes they have all season. Monka had three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 14 minutes while O'Dell had eight points, one rebound, and one assist in her extended action.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Vuletich paced the Colonials with 18 points as she knocked down 8-of-10 from the field and a perfect 2- for-2 from beyond the arc.
Simone Morris had another double-digit game as she recorded 15 points and was 5-for-5 from the charity stripe. Kirk had a season-high 11 points and 12 rebounds with eight of those boards coming on the offensive end.

The Colonials will have a couple days off before they travel to Lewisburg, Pa and battle Bucknell on Friday afternoon. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN+.
