HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – NKU used a 48 point 2
nd half in its 77-59 victory Wednesday night.
Markeese Hastings had a team-high 14 points and
Justice Williams added 11 points for RMU (2-5, 0-1 HL). Stephon Walker led all players with nine rebounds.
Marques Warrick poured in a game-high 25 points for the Norse (4-3, 1-0 HL). Sam Vinson scored 15 and Cade Meyer 10 for NKU.
The Norse doubled-up the Colonials at 16-8 at the midway point of the first half and LJ Wells' driving layup gave NKU its largest lead of the half at 20-8 at 8:47.
Josh Corbin's 3-pointer closed out the first half scoring with RMU staring at a 29-23 deficit.
The 2
nd half opened with back-to-back baskets from Hastings and Williams which got the Colonials within two points at 29-27 and Ford's layup would tie the contest at 33-33 at the 16:45 mark. Meyer's hook shot on the next possession would give the Norse the lead and begin to break the game wide open. NKU would go on a 24-4 run to take a 57-37 at the midway point of the half. The Norse' lead would get as high as 23 points at 75-52 with 0:57.9 remaining.
