Opening Faceoff
- The Robert Morris University men's hockey team heads out to Alaska for a non-conference series against the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves. The first game will be played on Friday, November 10 at 11:00 p.m. ET. Game two of the series will be the following night at 8:00 p.m. ET.
- Last time out, the Colonials hosted Simon Fraser (11/4) for an exhibition game, winning 3-1.
- Against the Red Leafs, Cameron Garvey kept up his scoring, sniping in two goals. Logan Ganie and Jackson Reineke both finished the night with two helpers.
- Gavin Gulash tapped in the game-winning goal on the power play off a feed from both blue liners, Cade Townend and Luke Johnson.
- Goaltender Francis Boisvert played between the posts for his first RMU game, posting 22 saves.
- Forwards Matthew Boczar and Lee Chiang both played for the first time in the campaign as well.
- Previously, RMU welcomed Bentley for a two-game set at Clearview Arena. The Colonials picked up the first game, winning 4-3 and fell the following day, 0-3.
- In the win, Cameron Garvey recorded his first two goals in his collegiate career, including the game-winning tally.
- Forwards Dallas Tulik and Cameron Hebert also chipped in a goal each at key points of the game.
- Six different Colonials recorded an assist in the victory: Michael Craig, Tanner Klimpke, McKay Hayes, Dominic Schimizzi and Luke Johnson. And, George Krotiris paced for two helpers.
- Between the posts, Chad Veltri registered a career-high 51 saves against the Falcons.
- Heading into the 2023-24 season, the staff brought in 16 freshmen which is the largest group of first-year players in the NCAA.
- The team also features many veterans, as there are nine graduates. In total, the roster is set to 29 student-athletes.
- In RMU's most recent season back in 2020-21, the Colonials finished 15-9-0 overall and were 10-5-0 in the AHA. Qualifying for the playoffs, RMU faced Niagara in the quarterfinal round, playing a best-of-three series. They won the first game in overtime, 3-2 and then fell to Niagara the next two games.

The All-Time Series vs. Alaska Anchorage – In program history, the Colonials have only faced off against the Seawolves once, happening back in 2009. Playing in Alaska that season, RMU won 5-3 on the second day of the Brice Alaska Goal Rush Tournament. This week will be RMU's second and third all-time games against the opposing program.

Scouting the Seawolves – This past season, the Seawolves finished with an 8-19-1 overall record. So far, in the 2023-24 campaign, they're 4-6-0. Offensively, senior forward Ben Almquist has produced a team-high four goals and seven assists totaling 11 points. Junior Maximilion Helgeson owns 10 points including a program-high six goals. Defensively, sophomore Brett Bamber holds a team-high 16 blocks in 10 games. In the +/- category, Porter Schachle leads the way with a +4. Through 10 games, Alaska Anchorage has dressed three goalies with Jared Whale picking up most of the playing time, starting in eight games. The sophomore possesses a 2.97 G.A.A. and .910 save percentage.
