Opening Faceoff
  • For the end of 2023, the Colonials will play in a four-team tournament hosted by the Pittsburgh Penguins at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex.
  • The Colonials are set to face Bemidji on Friday, December 29 at 7:00 p.m. With a win, RMU will then face the winner of Colgate vs. Maine the following day at 5:00 p.m. The losers from both games will play at 2:00 p.m. prior to the championship game.
  • Returning after the holiday break, the Colonials are 7-11-0 overall through the first 18 games and are 4-4-0 in the CHA conference.
  • Individually, freshman Alaina Giampietro is the team leader in goals and points (7-7—14).
  • Giampietro is ranked seventh in the conference in points produced.
  • Freshman Janelle Evans owns the most assists on the squad with eight. In total she has 11 points.
  • Sophomore Morgan Giannone is the one other forward on the roster that has reached double-digits in points (6-6—12).
  • Captains Allyson Hebert and Madison Primeau both hold a team-high +3.
  • Hebert has also blocked the most shots (33). Right behind her is defenseman Wasyn Rice (32).
  • In goal, Maggie Hatch started in 10 games through the first half of the season and appeared in 12. She currently holds a 2.95 G.A.A. and .922 save percentage. Her save percentage ranks second in the CHA.
  • Across eight of her 10 starts, she's registered 30+ saves. Her 71 saves against Penn State leads the conference this year with the most saves in a series.
  • The sophomore out of Cleveland Heights, Ohio owns four wins in the campaign.
 
The All-Time Series vs. Bemidji – In 12 meetings, the Colonials are 3-8-1 against Bemidji. The first contest between the two programs happened on November 16 of 2007 as the Beavers won 3-2. RMU won their first official game against Bemidji the next day, posting a 1-0 victory. Back in 2015 was the most recent series. In the last game, it finished in a 4-4 tie with RMU winning the shootout, 2-1.
 
Scouting the Beavers – On offense Taylor Nelson leads the team in points with nine (5-4—9). Forward Hailey Armstrong is the leader in goals, owning seven so far on the year. Defensively, freshman Riley Reeves holds a team leading 47 blocks in 16 games. She's also dished out four assists. Between three goaltenders, Abbie Thompson has appeared in the most games (13). She currently owns a 4.54 G.A.A. and .882 save percentage.
