The All-Time Series (Cincinnati) – Come Friday evening, it'll be the seventh all-time meeting between the Bearcats and Colonials. Cincinnati currently holds a 4-2 overall record in the series and have won the last three meetings. The Bearcats captured a 12-8 victory last season, outscoring the Colonials 6-2 in the final 22 minutes of action. Freshman Jenna Irwin potted two goals to extend her scoring streak to ten straight games and her overall team lead to 25 on the season. Obee led RMU with three points and extended her scoring streak to five games while Coleen Tifft's tally in the second pushed her streak to seven straight games with a goal.  Lilli Hadden (five games) and Julia Koterwas (four games) also saw their goal-scoring streak extended.

Scouting The Bearcats – Cincinnati comes into Friday's game with a 2-0 record, taking down Kent State 14-7 in their season opener before capturing a 20-9 win at Gardner-Webb last Sunday. Against the Runnin' Bulldogs, Ava Goeller matched a career-high six goals to lead the way, while freshman Camryn Callaghan added five more after her debut hat trick Friday. Lauren Ottensmeyer followed her four-goal performance in her UC debut to tally a hat trick and three assists on just four shots. Goeller and Callaghan were recognized as the league's Midfielder and Freshman of the Week following the Bearcats 2-0 opening week.

In a poll of American Athletic Conference (AAC) head coaches, Cincinnati has been picked to finish sixth in the preseason coaches' poll. Ava Goeller and Dani Mlkvy were named to the AAC's preseason all-conference team. Goeller was a Second-Team selection last year. She started and played in all 17 games, tallying 44 goals, 15 assists, 44 draw controls and 26 ground balls. Goeller ranked sixth overall in the AAC for goals per game (2.59 avg/g) and second for free-position goals (0.88 avg/g). Mlkvy was a unanimous selection after starting in all 17 games and led the Bearcats in draw controls (81) ground balls (38) and caused turnovers (22) during the 2022 season. She ranked fourth in the AAC for ground balls (2.24 avg/g) and third for draw controls (4.76 avg/g).

Battle Defensively – Despite the first quarter against the Buckeyes, the Colonials defense battled for the remaining 45 minutes of action. Robert Morris surrendered three goals in each the second and third quarter before Ohio State only found the net twice in the fourth. The Colonials limited the Buckeyes to just 16 shots over the next three quarters after yielding 16 in the first period alone. Graduate student Jamie Keller started in goal for RMU as she collected four saves on 26 shots faced. Sophomore goalkeeper Sydney Riker saw action in the fourth quarter as she tallied three saves on six shots fired at her, while carding two ground balls.

Turning Back Time – Joining the Mid-American Conference in 2021, the Colonials have been making a name for themselves the past two seasons. In their first season, RMU was crowned champions and earned their first ever berth in the NCAA Tournament. In 2022, RMU made an appearance in its second consecutive MAC Championship game, falling to Central Michigan.
