Opening Draw
  • The Robert Morris women's lacrosse team returns to Joe Walton Stadium for the first time this season when it hosts Bucknell for its home opener on Saturday afternoon.
  • The Colonials ended its two-game road trip to begin the season when they dropped a 24-9 decision at Cincinnati last Friday (2/17).
  • Seven different Colonials found the back of the net against the Bearcats led by sophomore Chelsea Coleman, who recorded her second career hat trick after netting three goals in the first half.
  • Three RMU players carded their first goals of the season against Cincinnati, Gia Anthony, Kelsey Nelson, and Lilli Hadden registered their first tally of the year.
  • Julia Koterwas and Jerica Obee found the back of the net for the second time this year, while Colleen Tifft scored her third this season and tallied an assist. Koterwas and Obee both registered assists in the contest.
  • Senior midfielder Jordan Anderson was dominant in the draw circle against the Bearcats, winning 11 draws on the afternoon. Anderson won 94 draws a season ago and ranked second in the league in draw controls per game at 5.53

The All-Time Series (Bucknell) – It'll be the 11th all-time meeting between the Colonials and Bison come Saturday afternoon. The two squads have split the first 10 meetings, dating all the way back to 2007. Bucknell has won three of the last five meetings, including a 17-6 win last season in Lewisburg. Jenna Irwin paced the Colonials with three goals for her second straight hat trick. Jordan Anderson tallied two goals, an assist, and won four draw controls on the afternoon.

Scouting The Bison – Bucknell comes to Moon Township with a 1-2 overall record after capturing their first win of the season last Saturday (2/18). The Bison captured a 17-12 win at Marist while 10 different players tallied a goal. Emily Baird netted a four-goal performance to lead Bucknell, while Allie Boyce also added a hat trick, as she joined Baird with four points along with Taylor McClain, who handed out four assists on the day. The Bison finished the game with a sizable difference in shots (41-26), including a 13-3 advantage over the first 15 minutes.

Taylor McClain leads the Bison with nine points, collecting eight assists and one goal this season. Boyce sits second with six points through three games, tallying five goals and one assist, while scoring at least once in all three contests. Taylor Kopan sits second on the team with five scores on six shots on goal, while collecting two ground balls. The duo of Ella Payer and Caitlin McHale have been a force in the draw circle for Bucknell, combining for 29 wins through the first three games. Payers has tallied 16 draw control wins while McHale has totaled 13 so far this season.

Defending The Joe - Dating back to 2007, the Colonials hold a 9-7 record in home openers, winning three out of their last four. Under head coach Katrina Silva, who is in her sixth season at the helm, the Colonials hold a 3-2 mark in home openers. Robert Morris has hosted Bucknell twice since 2007 for their first home contest of the season, each team securing a win. The Colonials captured a 10-6 victory in 2010 before dropping a 4-3 heartbreaker in double-overtime in 2018. Robert Morris and Bucknell have battled four times in Moon Township with each team capturing two victories.

Back-To-Back – Through the first two-games, three Colonials have carded goals and assists in consecutive contests. Seniors Colleen Tifft and Jerica Obee have recorded a goal and assist in both games this season, while classmate Julia Koterwas registered a goal against the Buckeyes and Bearcats. Tifft currently leads the team with five points after carding three goals and two assists, while Obee has tallied four points with two goals and two assists this year. Koterwas has boasted two goals and one assist for a total of three points.
