Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU women's track & field team got back to action after a week off Saturday, claiming the team championship at the Bob Shannon Invitational, hosted by Denison, at Mitchell Fieldhouse in Granville, Ohio.
POINTS ON THE BOARD
The Colonials racked up 186.5 points Saturday to win the team title, outlasting the host Big Red (122). California (Pa.) finished third with 80 points, and rounding out the field was Wooster (68.5), Washington & Jefferson (51), Waynesburg (46.5), Muskingum (40.5) and Kenyon (17).
INDIVIDUAL CROWNS
A total of seven different Colonials claimed gold Saturday, including junior
Gracie Parker, who finished first in both the 60-meter dash and the 60-meter hurdles. Parker posted a time of 7.81 seconds in the finals of the 60-meter dash, the second fastest time in program history. She led a performance in the event in which RMU took home each of the top three spots and four of the top five. Sophomore
Maddie Raymond clocked in at 7.82 seconds for silver, while fifth-year
Tara Gologram earned bronze at 7.86. Freshman
Dea Monz posted a time of 8.15 seconds to finish fifth.
THE FASTEST NETWORK
Parker also stole the show in the 60-meter hurdles, posting the top time in the preliminaries at 9.10 seconds before cruising in at 8.90 seconds to win in the finals. She outlasted her teammate, freshman
Lindsey Martineau, who finished second at 9.28. Elsewhere in the sprints, Raymond won the individual championship in the 200-meter dash, crossing the finish line with a time of 26.60 seconds, while the crown in the 400-meter dash went to senior
Elicia Moore, who clocked in at 1:00.41.
GEM CITY
In addition to the 20 points she accrued during individual events, Parker was also part of RMU's 4x400-meter relay team that finished first with a time of 4:11.16 (4:07.87). She ran the third leg and was joined by sophomore
Hannah McDanel, Moore and sophomore
Grace Mason. Also on the track, sophomore
Frances Kabana earned her first career individual championship by winning the 800-meter with a time of 2:26.33.
FIELD HAPPENINGS
Junior
Madelyn Resciniti moved into the top five in the Horizon League in the weight throw Saturday, unleashing a toss of 16.14 meters (52'11") to win gold in the event. Also earning field individual championships for the Colonials was Gologram (long jump) and sophomore
Rayna Todero (triple jump). Gologram recorded a leap of 5.63 meters (18'5.75") to claim gold, while Todero earned silver in the event at 5.10 meters (16'8.75"). In the triple jump, Todero posted a distance of 11.15 meters (36'7") to finish first.

RMU returns to Ohio for its final competition prior to the Horizon League Indoor Track & Field Championships, heading to Geneva, Ohio, for the SPIRE Indoor Games Saturday, Feb. 11.
