RMU Announces The Bobby Mo Exchange

Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) platform established to assist RMU student-athletes

Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU Department of Athletics announced Monday the launch of its official, school-specific Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) marketplace, powered by INFLCR, to help Colonial student-athletes leverage their personal NIL opportunities.

The Bobby Mo Exchange is a student-athlete NIL business registry that is custom designed for businesses, donors, alumni and others interested in wishing to connect with RMU student-athletes. RMU does not receive financial benefit from the Bobby Mo Exchange, as NCAA rules require that universities advise the student-athletes to ensure an equitable and ethical process.

"The launch of the Bobby Mo Exchange provides our student-athletes the ability to maximize NIL opportunities and connect with businesses around the greater Pittsburgh region and beyond," RMU Vice President and Director of Athletics Chris King '94 said. "Nearly a year-and-a-half after the creation of the FORMULA NIL program, we continue to strive to provide RMU student-athletes with the best tools to capitalize in the marketplace and enhance their personal brand, market themselves and provide the resources for success in the NIL space. We're excited to take both our FORMULA NIL program and our INFLCR partnership to the next level, and the creation of Bobby Mo Exchange will enable the local business community to easily connect with our student-athletes regarding NIL opportunities in this new landscape of college athletics."

Registered businesses can search, filter and initiate conversations with RMU student-athletes who have opted into the marketplace to discuss a NIL deal.  Common NIL deals include video posts, appearances, social media endorsements and more. Once the NIL deal between a registered business and an RMU student-athlete is completed, the business will use the Bobby Mo Exchange to create a transaction that will produce a direct payment to the student-athlete and automate a disclosure to the INFLCR Verified Compliance Ledger.

"It's exciting to see RMU Athletics supporting their student-athletes by providing a fee-free platform to monetize personal brands with NIL," said INFLCR Founder Jim Cavale. "The Bobby Mo Exchange will empower every RMU athlete the opportunity to create powerful connections with the local community, leading to partnerships and NIL deals."

Every RMU student-athlete will have the opportunity to receive a profile for the Bobby Mo Exchange, which they can customize to let fans know more about their interests and NIL deals that they are seeking. The student-athletes can also share their profile on their social media accounts to help promote their marketplace to their fans.
