Opening Draw
- The Robert Morris women's lacrosse team continues its road trip when it travels to Buffalo, N.Y. to take on Canisius on Tuesday, March 14, in non-conference action.
- The Colonials captured their first win of the season last Wednesday (3/8) carding a 14-8 victory at Gardner-Webb in non-conference play.
- Eight different Colonials found the back of the net, led by Tifft who enjoyed a prolific day. She recorded her sixth career hat trick and finished with four points on the afternoon. Tifft recorded two of her three goals in the fourth quarter and collected an assist.
- Chelsea Coleman, Jerica Obee, and Lilli Hadden all scored a pair of goals, while Coleman and Obee collected assists as well. Sophomore Jenna Irwin saw her first action of the season and made quick work, netting two goals and tallied an assist in her season debut.
- Senior Julia Koterwas ended the afternoon with two points (1G, 1A), while Kelsey Nelson and Gia Anthony both posted scores in the win.
- Senior Jordan Anderson was stout for RMU in the draw circle, carding 10 draw controls on the afternoon. Anderson has posted double-digit draws twice this season and now paces the Mid-American conference with 6.40 draws per game.
- After being named Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday (3/7), graduate goalkeeper Jamie Keller collected five saves on 19 shots faced. She tallied three saves in the final frame, while facing five shots on goal.
- RMU outshot Gardner-Webb 38-19 and placed 29 shots to their 13 on goal. The Colonials caused seven turnovers while going a perfect 19-for-19 on clear attempts.

The All-Time Series (Canisius) – Come Tuesday, it'll be the 11
th all-time meeting between the Colonials and Golden Griffins and the first in Buffalo, N.Y. since 2014. Canisius has dominated the series, holding a 9-1 overall record and capturing a 16-11 victory last season.
Gia Anthony enjoyed a career day for RMU, potting four of RMU's 11 goals against the Golden Griffins, setting a new career-high with her first four scores of the year. The performance was just the second multi-goal game of her career as she also finished with a new best four shots on goal. Anthony was not alone is scoring her first goal of the season as
Jenna Irwin and
Julia Koterwas found the back of the net for the first time on the year. For Iriwn, the goal was the first of her NCAA career in just her second career game, while
Chelsea Coleman picked up her first collegiate point with an assist.
Jerica Obee recorded her first multi-point game for RMU with two goals and an assist.
Scouting The Golden Griffins – Canisius comes into Tuesday's match losing their last two contests, dropping a 16-8 decision at Pitt on Tuesday before falling at Lafayette in double overtime, 10-9 on Saturday. The Golden Griffins are currently 3-2 overall this season. Senior midfielder Paige Stachura paced the Griffins with a season-high five goals, falling one short of her career high of six. Graduate student midfielder Skylar McArthur recorded her fourth hat trick of the season and junior midfielder Maddie Mazur would add in the only other goal for the Blue and Gold. Defenders Jill Galanti and Meghan Ellis would each pick up a team-high three ground balls while in net, freshman Jody Chu tallied a season-best 17 saves.
The Golden Griffins are led by a trio of goal scorers who combine for 44 of the teams 63 goals this season. Stachura paces the team with 18 scores, netting four or more in all by one contest this year. She records .871 shots on goal percentage while firing 31 total shots, with 27 coming on net. Stachura has collected 13 draw controls, nine ground balls, and caused seven turnovers. Skylar McArthur and Caroline Netti sit tied for second on the team with 13 goals each. McArthur has fired 29 shots and 23 on goal, while posting .793 shots on goal percentage. She leads the Golden Griffins with 14 draws this season and has collected four ground balls. Netti registers .760 shots on goal percentage while causing a pair of turnovers this year. Kaitlyn Scale ranks first on the team with seven assists and has carded 12 points (5G) on the year. She tallied two or more assists in three of their first five games.
On A Tear – A group of Colonials have been consistently producing for RMU through the first five games of the season. Sophomore
Chelsea Coleman has posted for straight multi-goals games, leading the Colonials with 11 this season. She also sits second on the team with 14 draw controls. Senior
Colleen Tifft keeps on distributing as she has tallied an assist in all five games this season while sitting second on the team with seven goals. Classmate
Jerica Obee has registered a goal in every game this season, giving her seven on the season while senior
Julia Koterwas has recorded a goal in four of the first five contests. Junior
Lilli Hadden has tallied four consecutive games with at least one goal, ranking her third on the team with five.
The Draw – Senior midfielder
Jordan Anderson continues to create opportunities for the Colonials in the draw circle. She paces the Mid-American conference with 6.40 draws per game, which ranks her 18th in the country. Anderson has totaled 32 on the season while recording two games of double-digit draw wins. The Minnesota native has carded a goal and an assist this season while totaling four caused turnovers and three ground balls.
