Opening Draw
  • The Colonials prepare for two contests this weekend, traveling to Kent State on Saturday, April 15, for a Mid-American Conference (MAC) match before hosting the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame on Sunday, April 16.
  • The Colonials are coming off a season sweep over YSU, capturing a 12-6 victory on Wednesday afternoon in conference action. Seven different Colonials found the back of the net as RMU doubled up the Penguins.
  • Colleen Tifft stamped her name into the record books as she surpassed 100-career points after tying her career-high four scores on Wednesday. She caused a team-high two turnovers, collected two draw controls and a ground ball against the Penguins.
  • Lilli Hadden posted her third hat trick this season and her second consecutive hat trick in the last two games. Kelsey Nelson ended the afternoon with three points, registering a team-high two assists and a score.
  • Jenna Irwin, Jordan Anderson, and Julia Koterwas all carded a score and an assist while Chelsea Coleman found the back of the net. Graduate student Emilie Kim tallied her second consecutive game with an assist.
  • Robert Morris was defensively stout against one of the top offenses in the MAC. The Colonials held the Penguins to its third lowest scoring total of the season as YSU came into today's match leading the conference in goals per contest (12.17) and shots on goal (20.67).
  • Graduate student goalkeeper Jamie Keller carded one of her best performances of the season, posting a season-high .647 save percentage. She collected 11 saves on 23 shots faced while holding the top scoring team in the league to just six markers. It's the third time this season Keller has posted double-digit saves and the 11th time in her career.
  • Jordan Anderson was dominant in the circle, tallying a team-best five draw controls while carding a goal and an assist during the victory. Chelsea Coleman recorded three draws and two caused turnovers while sophomore Maggie Boyle and Tifft each collected a pair of draws.

The All-Time Series (Kent State) – It'll be the second meeting this season between the Golden Flashes and Colonials as Kent State captured its first victory in the series last Wednesday (4/5). The Golden Flashes captured a 13-10 win in Moon Township while holding off the Colonials comeback. Six different Colonials found the back of the net, led by the hat trick from Chelsea Coleman. Kelsey Nelson finished with a team-leading three points after netting two scores and collecting an assist on three shots. Tifft found the back of the net twice on four shots while winning a pair of draw controls. Lilli Hadden tallied two total points, with a goal and an assist while grabbing a team-high three ground balls. Jordan Anderson registered a score on two shots while collecting two draw controls. RMU used a pair of goalkeepers against the Golden Flashes as Jamie Keller got the start. She finished with four saves on 13 shots faced while recording a .400 save percentage. Sophomore Sydney Riker played just under 33 minutes for the Colonials, collecting five saves on 18 shots faced and registered a .417 save percentage.

Scouting The Golden Flashes – Kent State comes into Saturday on a three-game winning streak while holding a 6-6 overall record and sitting atop the conference with a perfect 3-0 mark in league play. Kenzie Sklar and Jackie Wolford combined for 13 goals to lead the Golden Flashes to a 19-9 victory at Eastern Michigan in the first meeting on Wednesday (4/12). Sklar recorded six goals and four assists for 10 points, breaking the previous school record of eight. Wolford tied a pair of Kent State records with seven goals. The junior now has 41 goals this season to tie her own record from a year ago. Zayda Crumpton set a Golden Flashes single-game record with six caused turnovers. Crumpton added a career-high eight ground balls to go with five draw controls and two goals.

Jackie Wolford and Kenzie Sklar sit atop the MAC in many statistical categories. They lead the conference in goals per game, points per game, and shots per game. Wolford sits first with 41 total scores and averaging 3.42 per game while Sklar sits second with 40 goals and 3.33 per contest. Sklar is tied for the league lead with 48 total points while sitting first with 8.25 shots per game. Wolford is tabbed third with 3.92 points per game and sitting second with 8.00 shots per contest this season. Morgan Kubicki is the facilitator for the Golden Flashes are she paces the league with 1.67 assists per game while posting a conference leading 20 this season.

The All-Time Series (Notre Dame) – Come Sunday it'll be the third all-time meeting between the Colonials and Fighting Irish while being the first ever meeting in Moon Township. RMU and Notre Dame squared off twice in 2021 with the Fighting Irish being victorious in both. The last time these two squads met was in the first round of the NCAA tournament where Notre Dame captured a 16-0 victory. The Colonials captured their first ever conference title in 2021, and concluded the campaign at 14-3 overall following their first appearance in the NCAA postseason.

Scouting The Fighting Irish – Notre Dame comes to Moon Township sitting in fifth in the ACC standings while being ranked No. 8 in this week's ILWomen/IWLCA poll. They post a 9-4 overall record and a 4-3 mark in conference action. The Fighting Irish will travel to Pitt on Friday, April 14 before coming to Joe Walton Stadium. The last time out, Norte Dame routed Butler, 26-3 on Monday (4/10) while shattering multiple records.  The 26 goals set an Irish record for most goals in a road win, topping the previous mark set at Kennesaw State in 2017 where the Irish reigned victorious, 24-4. With 26 goals, coming off the sticks of 14 individuals, the Irish set the record for goals on the road while coming one shy of the program record. Two individuals recorded their first career goals in the victory.

Notre Dame comes in as one of the top offensive teams in the country. They currently sit fifth in the NCAA with 16.08 scores per game while ranking seventh in scoring margin at 7.31. The Irish pace the ACC and sit sixth in free-position percentage (.543) while sitting fourth in the country in draw controls percentage (.619).

Notre Dame is led by a trio of players as Jackie Wolak paces the team in points (67) and assists (33) while sitting third on the squad in goals (34). Madison Ahern ranks second in total points (55) and sits second in both goals (40) and assists (15). Leading goal scorer Kasey Choma sits third on the squad with 51 total points while pacing the team in goals (41) and sitting third in assists (10). Mary Kelly Dohert has collected 64 draw controls and a team-leading 15 caused turnovers while tallying 16 scores this season. Kelly Denes has been dominant in the circle for the Irish as she has collected 83 draw controls which ranks third in the conference and 18th in the country.
