Opening Draw
- The Robert Morris women's lacrosse team hits the road for the final time this regular season when it travels to Akron on Wednesday, April 26 for a Mid-American Conference (MAC) match at Summa Field.
- The Colonials are coming off a dominant victory over Eastern Michigan last Wednesday (4/19) securing a 19-7 win at Joe Walton Stadium.
- RMU scored a season-high 19 goals on the afternoon while 13 players found the back of the net. Julia Koterwas paced the Colonials with five points, tying her career-high with three assists while carding two goals.
- Jenna Irwin finished with four points, tallying two goals and two assists while collecting two draw controls, two ground balls and a caused turnover. Colleen Tifft, Bailey Christianson and Lilli Hadden all finished with two goals and one assist while Chelsea Coleman totaled two assists and one score during the win.
- Coleman also posted a career-high seven draw controls while collecting a ground ball. Kelsey Nelson and Emilie Kim both finished with a pair of points while Nelson tallied three ground balls and a draw control.
- Gia Anthony finished with a goal while Mackenzie Bell finished with a season-high four ground balls, three caused turnovers, and two ground balls while also finding the back of the net.
- Along with Coleman, senior Jordan Anderson was dominant in the circle, collecting six draw controls and one ground ball.
- Between the pipes, graduate student goalkeeper Jamie Keller ended the afternoon with seven saves on 18 shots faced while posting a .538 saves percentage.

The All-Time Series (Akron) – It'll be the sixth all-time meeting between the Colonials and Zips come Wednesday evening. RMU has taken control of the series, holding a 5-0 record while capturing a 12-4 victory last April (4/16/22). A trio of Colonials paced the team with three points led by
Bailey Christianson,
Lilli Hadden, and
Jerica Obee. Christianson and Hadden posted two scores and one assist while Obee carded two assists and a goal in the win.
Jenna Irwin and
Julia Koterwas each tallied a pair of scores while both collected two ground balls as Koterwas caused two turnovers as well.
Kelsey Nelson,
Colleen Tifft, and
Gia Anthony all found the back of the net once as Nelson caused three turnovers and two ground balls while Anthony registered three ground balls and a caused turnover during the win.
Jamie Keller was stout between the pipes, collecting seven saves on 16 shots faced while surrendering only four scores. She also carded a team-high five ground balls.
As a team, Robert Morris is netting 14.6 goals per contest in the series while holding Akron to just 4.4 scores per game. The Colonials have scored 73 total goals in five games against the Zips while holding them to just 22 in the series.
Scouting The Zips – Akron comes into Wednesday's match snapping a long losing streak while holding a 2-14 overall record, with a 1-6 mark in league action. The Zips captured a 10-9 victory at Eastern Michigan last Saturday (4/22). Anjali Silverheels, Alexis Kiefer, and Macy Vail paced the Zips with three points each while all three posted two scores and an assist in the victory. Silverheels and Kiefer both collected three ground balls while Kiefer caused five turnovers and won five draw controls. Jenna Ridener registered team-highs with six caused turnovers and four ground balls during the win.
Kiefer leads the Zips in points (36) and goals (31) this season while ranking first with 68 draw controls. She has scored in 14 of 15 games while posting a .776 shots percentage. Vail ranks second on the team with 14 points while scoring 13 times and collecting an assist. Kaija Kunttu and Sarah Baumer sit tied for third on the team with nine goals while Kunttu collected 18 draw controls, 15 ground balls, and caused nine turnovers. Kylie Harris has totaled 35 draw controls which ranks second on the squad while collecting 12 ground balls. She sits second with five assists on the year while finding the back of the net once.
Defensive Glory – Following her performance against Eastern Michigan, junior midfielder
Mackenzie Bell was selected the MAC Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office earlier today.
Bell, a native of Catonsville, Md., anchored the Colonials' defense in a dominant 19-7 victory over the Eagles last Wednesday (4/19). She paced RMU with a season-high four ground balls while carding a team-best three caused turnovers and collected two draw controls. In the fourth quarter, Bell found the back of the net for the first time this season on her only shot on goal of the game.
The Mount De Sales Academy product sits second on the team with 15 caused turnovers while placing third with 19 ground balls. She has caused three or more turnovers in three contests while collecting two or more ground balls in six games this season. Against conference foes, Bell ranks second on the squad in both ground balls (10) and caused turnovers (7) while sitting sixth in draw controls (6). Bell is just one of six Colonials to start in all 15 games this season. This will be the first time she has been honored by the MAC in her career.
Against Conference Foes – In six games against MAC opponents, Robert Morris sits in the top three in multiple statistical categories. The Colonials currently sit second in assists per game (5.67), points per game (19.67), shots per game (32.00), and shots on goal per game (25.67). They also rank third in the conference with 14.00 scores per contest. On the defensive, RMU is tabbed second in turnovers per game (12.50) while sitting third in draw controls per game (14.50) and caused turnovers (8.33). Between the pipes, the Colonials have the second-best goals against average (9.67) and the third best saves percentage (.463) while also tying for first with the least amount of goals given up (58).
