Opening Draw
- The Robert Morris women's lacrosse team continues Mid-American Conference (MAC) play when it travels to Detroit Mercy on Saturday, April 8, at Titan Field.
- The Colonials fell short of a comeback against Kent State, dropping a 13-10 decision this past Wednesday at Joe Walton Stadium.
- Six different Colonials found the back of the net, led by the hat trick from Chelsea Coleman. She finished with a team leading eight shots, with seven coming on goal while causing three turnovers.
- Kelsey Nelson finished with a team-leading three points after netting two scores and collecting an assist on three shots. Tifft found the back of the net twice on four shots while winning a pair of draw controls.
- Lilli Hadden tallied two total points, with a goal and an assist while grabbing a team-high three ground balls. Jordan Anderson registered a score on two shots while collecting two draw controls.
- RMU used a pair of goalkeepers against the Golden Flashes as Jamie Keller got the start. She finished with four saves on 13 shots faced while recording a .400 save percentage.
- Sophomore Sydney Riker played just under 33 minutes for the Colonials, collecting five saves on 18 shots faced and registered a .417 save percentage.

The All-Time Series (Detroit Mercy) – Come Saturday, it'll be the 10th all-time meeting between the Colonials and Titans. The series has been one-sided as RMU holds a dominating 8-1 overall mark while posting a 3-1 record in Michigan. In the last meeting, RMU secured a 13-8 victory while eight different Colonials netted a score. RMU took control of the game from the opening draw, racing out to a 7-1 lead over the opening two quarters of action to keep the Titans at arms' length.
Jenna Irwin stepped up with a huge performance, leading the Colonials with four goals on the day on a team-best five shots on goal.
Jerica Obee's second-half tally pushed her goals streak to seven games, while a pair for
Colleen Tifft made it eight straight with a goal.
Julia Koterwas also extended her goal streak to five straight, finishing the day with a goal and an assist.
Scouting The Titans – Detroit Mercy comes into Saturday's match snapping a five-game losing streak while holding a 2-6 overall record, with a 1-1 mark in conference play. The Titans dropped its MAC opener at Central Michigan, 13-8 last Wednesday (3/29) before routing Eastern Michigan on Saturday (4/1) 17-7. Senior Marina Butler and junior Cat Kopchia each had five points on three goals and two assists - matching a career-high in points for Butler. Senior Annie Gilbert had two goals and two helpers while sophomore Leah Bodnar added two scores. Sophomore Maddy Camm had a career-best three caused turnovers to go with two ground balls, a draw control, a goal and an assist. Junior Sophie Davis registered a career-high two caused turnovers and sophomore Meredith Leavell made eight saves, picked up four ground balls and caused a turnover to earn the win in net.
The Titans are led by Cat Kopchia, who paces the team with 20 total points and 14 goals this season. She's averaging 2.00 scores per game which ranks her ninth in the conference and fourth in the MAC with 6.00 shots per contest. Kopchia has netted two or more goals in five games this season. Leah Bodnar sits second on the team with 11 goals on 27 total shots. She has netted two or more goals in four straight games for the Titans and sits second on the team with 15 draw controls. Marina Butler is the facilitator for Detroit Mercy as she paces the squad with 10 assists, averaging 1.25 per game which ranks her second in the league. She's also netted nine goals on the year, sitting her second on the team with 19 total points. Butler has registered a goal and an assist in four games for the Titans this season.
On the defensive, Maddy Camm leads the team with 10 caused turnovers as she is averaging 1.25 per contest, ranking her seventh in the conference. She's also collected the second most ground balls on the team with 15. Goalkeeper Meredith Leavell paces the Mid-American Conference with 3.13 ground balls per game and has totaled 25 on the season. She also ranks second in the league with 10.88 saves per game and third with a .497 saves percentage. Sarah Meek has totaled a team-leading 19 draw controls along with four ground balls this season.
Stats In The MAC – Just 10 games in, the Colonials have a group of players that sit in the top 10 of the conference in statistics. Senior
Julia Koterwas ranks 10th in the league with just under an assist a game. She ranks tied for first on the team with seven while also finding the back of the net seven times. Sophomore
Jenna Irwin sits in the top 10 in shots per game, averaging 4.67 per contest. She's totaled 11 points this year, recording eight goals and three assists after missing the first four games of the season.
Chelsea Coleman ranks second in the MAC in caused turnovers, carding 1.50 per game and collecting 15 on the year. Senior
Jordan Anderson sits fourth in the league with 43 draw controls and is averaging 4.30 per game for the Colonials. She's tallied double-digit draws twice this season, registering a season-high 11 at Cincinnati.
Keeping The Streak Alive - A trio of Colonials have kept their streaks alive.
Chelsea Coleman has scored in nine consecutive games for RMU while carding three hat tricks this season. She leads the team with 19 goals while sitting second with 21 total points. After being named Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday (4/4),
Colleen Tifft continued to stay steady for RMU. She has scored in four straight contests while scoring two or more goals in three consecutive games. Tifft leads the team with 23 total points and sits behind Coleman with 16 scores.
Gia Anthony extended her scoring streak to six straight games after netting her 10th goal of the season against the Golden Flashes. She now sits tied for third on the team in scores.
