Colonials Fall to the Panthers

Udeh and Kolbeins score first career goal

Milwaukee, Wis. – The Robert Morris men's soccer team lost to Milwaukee, 2-3 in a Horizon League conference game. The Colonials are now 3-3-2 overall on the year and are 1-2 in conference. Milwaukee moves to 3-4-1 overall and also 1-2 in the Horizon League.

MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Starting off strong on the road, the Colonials gathered most of the chances from the start. Sophomore midfielder Victor Koah recorded the games first shot on net in the sixth minute, as his strike going towards the top-left corner was saved.

Following that chance, Chase Gilley and Logan Gilley both had shots about 10 minutes later.

Past the first 30 minutes, forwards Kosi Udeh and Kyler Miller subbed on and worked together to create RMU's first goal.

In the 37th minute, Miller found Udeh to give the Colonials the lead. Udeh's shot came near the edge of the box, slotting the ball into the bottom right side of the net.

After RMU went ahead, Miller spotted one more shot and the Colonials earned a corner kick chance with a few seconds remaining, but went into the locker room up, 1-0.

Early on in the second half, Milwaukee brought on more offense. Through the first 15 minutes, they counted three shots and earned two corner kicks.

At the 60th minute mark, David Cox received a pass from Abdu Regassa to tie up the game. Just three minutes later, there was a foul made in the box, therefore the Panthers earned a penalty kick. Cox stepped up to take it and made the shot, bringing Milwaukee ahead, 2-1.

Throughout the second half, both sides had received two yellow cards. In the 70th minute, Kosi Udeh was given a red card, making the RMU squad down a man.

Playing the remainder of the game a man-down, head coach Jonathan Potter made some tactical changes in the lineup, making four substitutions immediately after the card.

Milwaukee took advantage of the man-up opportunity and struck for goal once again. This time, Arthur Souza scored off a double-assist by David Cox and Daiki Kumakawa.

With under five minutes remaining, RMU began to push numbers forward. Nolan Hutter almost scored but the Panthers defense made a goal line save. Chase Gilley also pounced a shot on net and Robert Kolbeins knocked a shot high.

Fighting to tie up the game, with 72 seconds left in the game, the Colonials received a corner kick chance. Darren Gray crossed it in and Kolbeins finished it off the back post to bring the score, 2-3.

The Colonials didn't have time to tie it up and fell to the Panthers, 2-3 on the road.
