MILWAUKEE – The Colonials lost their fourth straight contest as they got upended on the road by Milwaukee, 73-58. With the loss, RMU drops to 6-10 overall and 2-5 in the Horizon League while Milwaukee improves to 9-9 overall and a 4-5 mark in the conference.
KEY STATISTICS
The Colonials had their moments on the offensive side of the ball especially in the second half when the team went on separate 8-0 and 10-0 runs. RMU was down by 17 in the third quarter when Alex Mastral chipped in four points on the Colonials 8-0 run that helped the visiting team gain traction in the contest.
RMU shot 29 percent in the first half of play as the Colonials struggled to score early on with the Panthers beginning to mount a sizable lead. Where the Colonials' struggles kicked in was beyond the arc as RMU shot a season-worst 10.5 percent from three-point range, going 2-19 in that area. However, in the fourth quarter RMU turned the tables, shooting 50 percent from the field and hitting all three of their free throws in the final quarter.
TURNOVERS TO POINTS
The Colonials took advantage of the turnovers they caused in the contest as RMU scored 21 points off of Milwaukee's turnovers compared to the Panthers who only scored 11 points off of Colonial giveaways.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Tuana Coskun led the Colonials with a career-best 12 points while converting on all five field goals she attempted in the game. Rebecca Dwomoh chipped in seven points, a team-high five rebounds, three assists, and three blocks for the Colonials. Danielle Vuletich added nine points for the Colonials while hauling four rebounds for the away team.
