MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Anthony Chiccitt threw for a pair of touchdowns and ran for one score in RMU's 23-0 victory over Delaware State (1-6) on Saturday afternoon for Homecoming at Joe Walton Stadium.
The 1
st half remained scoreless until
Jayson Jenkins kicked a 37-yard field goal at the 10:24 mark of the 2
nd quarter. That was the only scoring until
Carl Smith Jr.'s 42-yard touchdown reception at 9:48 of the 3
rd quarter made the score 10-0. After RMU's defense forced a 3-and-out,
Cole Mitchell hauled in a 4-yard touchdown pass to put RMU ahead 16-0 with 5:04 left in the 3
rd quarter. Chiccitt called his own number for a 20-yard touchdown to close out the scoring with 12:25 remaining in the 4
th quarter.
Chiccitt finished 25-of-31 for 224 yards for the Colonials (3-3, 1-0 NEC).
Tyvon Edmonds Jr. ran for 70 yards while Smith, Jr. had three catches for 88 yards. On defense,
Tyris Harvey made nine stops and added one sack.
Rob Carter Jr. and
Keon Freeman each had five stops.
The Colonials return to NEC play on October 19
th when they host LIU (1-6, 1-1 NEC). The Sharks recorded their first win of the season earlier today, 31-7 over Stonehill.

- This was RMU's first shutout since a 46-0 victory over UVLynchburg on September 23, 2023
