INDIANAPOLIS, In. – The RMU volleyball team fell in straight sets this afternoon against the IU Indy Jaguars.
 
With the loss, the Colonials fall to 7-11, 2-5 HL while the Jaguars improve to 8-12, 2-5 HL.
 
KEY SET MOMENTS

• The Colonials went to work on offense to start the set as they jumped out to a 11-9 lead. The Jaguars however just completely stormed back and went on an 11-2 run to tak ea commanding 21-13 set lead. IU Indy would close the set with two aces in the final four points.
• The beginning of the second set was a back and forth affair until the midway mark when the Colonials trailed 14-12. IU Indy would score nine out of the next 12 points to take a nine-point lead. RMU had seven kills in the set on 32 total attacks.
• RMU was determined to control the offensive tempo to begin the set as they started things with a 9-6 courtesy of three kills from Jaaliyah Evans. Unfortunately for the Colonials, IU Indy went on a set-changing 15-0 run that completely shifted the RMU momentum. IU Indy would take the set 25-15, and won the match three sets to nil.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Jaaliyah Evans led the Colonials with six kills with Natalie Stepanovich right behind her with five kills. Jaidan Hockman led RMU with 16 digs with Ashleigh Wallin leading the team with eight assists.
 
UP NEXT
The Colonials will come back home next weekend when they host Northern Kentucky at the UPMC Events Center. The first match is scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. with the concluding match on Saturday at 2 p.m.
