MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - RMU remained undefeated after its 17-0 victory over Saint Francis U on Saturday afternoon. The Colonials (5-3, 3-0 NEC) remain tied atop the Northeast Conference standings with Duquesne while the Red Flash falls to 2-6, 0-4 NEC.
Anthony Chiccitt was 15-for-29 passing with 197 yards.
Tyvon Edmonds Jr. ran for 69 yards on 12 carries and a touchdown.
Noah Robinson hauled in five balls for 71 yards.
Leading the Colonials on defense was
Jamar Shegog, who had a team-high 10 tackles. Reigning NEC Defensive Player of the Week
Keon Freeman made seven stops.
Rob Carter Jr. had one interception with a 31-yard return. The defense held SFU to eight 1
st downs and stopped them 12 of 15 times on 3
rd down while holding them to 130 total yards of offense.
RMU got on the board first on
Ethan Shine's 1-yard touchdown run at 2:04 of the 1
st quarter.
Jayson Jenkins 43-yard field goal at 12:09 of the 2
nd quarter put the Colonials ahead 10-0. Edmonds gave RMU a 17-0 lead after a 1-yard score with 16 seconds left in the 3
rd quarter.
Up next, RMU closes out its four-game homestand against Merrimack in its final nonconference matchup of the season on November 2. The Warriors (4-4) are coming off a 51-17 victory over Colgate earlier this afternoon. Kickoff is at noon.
