VILLANOVA, Pa. – RMU fell to Villanova 87-73 in a charity scrimmage contest on Sunday afternoon. Four Colonials scored in double-figures with Josh Omojafo and DJ Smith leading the way with 15 points each.  Kam Woods and Alvaro Folgueiras each scored 11 points and pulled down six rebounds.
 
1^st HALF
After going down by six points at 13:53, RMU got back-to-back 3-pointers from Omojafo and Antallah Sandlin-El followed by a jumper from Woods to take a 17-15 advantage at 12:39. They would fall behind by seven points at 8:31 before going on an 8-0 run capped by Sandlin-El's and-1 to go ahead 27-26 at 4:33. However the Wildcats would close the half on a 16-8 run to take a 42-35 lead into halftime.


2^nd HALF
Villanova would take its first double-digit lead at 18:12 and extend it to 13 points at the midway point. Their lead would get as many as 17 points. Smith scored 12 of his points in the 2^nd half.  


INSIDE THE NUMBERS
RMU hit 41% of its 3-pointers, making 12-of-29. Villanova won the battle of the boards, 51-27 and points in the paint 44-20. The Colonials had nine steals and scored 10 points off turnovers. Woods had six of RMU's 18 assists.


UP NEXT
This is the Colonials' final tune-up prior to their Monday, November 4 season-opener at West Virginia. RMU opens its home slate on Sunday, November 10 against Chatham at the UPMC Events Center.
