DAYTON, Ohio. – The RMU volleyball team fell in straight sets this evening against the Wright State Raiders.
With the loss, the Colonials fall to 9-15, 4-9 HL while the Raiders improve to 20-4, 12-1 HL.
KEY SET MOMENTS
- The Colonials battled with the Raiders to start the match as both teams exchanged points until the score was tied at seven. Wright State would then go on a 10-2 run to take a 17-9 lead and didn't look back. With RMU only converting on eight kills in the first set it was too much for the visitors to overcome in the stanza
- RMU's offensive woes continued as Wright State was only heating up as the home team had a match-high .406 hit percentage in the stanza. The Colonials trailed 14-3 to start the set and would only score 11 points in the second stanza.
- The Colonials weren't going to go down without a fight as they trailed just 12-9 in the third set thanks to three kills from Jocelyn Jourdan and a couple kills from Jaaliyah Evans and Natalie Stepanovich. However, Wright State would go on another big run this time a 9-2 streak to go up 18-9. The Raiders would end up closing out the set 25-15 to end the match.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Sophomore outside hitter
Jocelyn Jourdan led the Colonials with seven kills while
Natalie Stepanovich had six kills.
Jaaliyah Evans had a team-high four blocks while
Jasmine Purakal closed the match with 13 digs.

RMU will close the season series with Wright State tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m. The match is not live streamed and can only be followed on live stats through the RMU Colonials website.
