NEWARK, Del. –
Kam Woods' 3-pointer with two seconds left in regulation did not fall as Delaware (1-1) held off RMU (0-2) 81-77 on Thursday night at the Bob Carpenter Center.
1st HALF
After a pair of ties and a pair of lead changes, a 11-4 run put Robert Morris ahead 27-16 capped by an old fashion 3-pointer by
Ryan Prather Jr. that made the score 27-16 at 10:44. However the Blue Hens would use a 14-0 run to take a 32-28 lead at 6:51. Four more ties and two lead changes later, Delaware took at 45-43 lead into halftime.
2nd HALF
The second half had two ties and seven scoring changes.
Josh Omojafo's layup gave RMU its final lead of the game with 4:57 to go at 72-70. The game would remain a two-possession contest the rest of the end of the contest.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Woods scored 18 of his game-high 22 in the 1
st half and recorded six assists.
Ryan Prather Jr. scored a career-high 14, Omojafo added 12 and both
Ismael Plet and
Amarion Dickerson added 10. Dickerson was a +16 on the floor. The Colonials scored 20 points off 15 UD turnovers and 16 seconds chance points to the Blue Hens' six.
UP NEXT
The Colonials open up their season at the UPMC Events Center on November 10 against Chatham. The Cougars begin their season on November 9 at Carlow.
