BETHESDA, Md. – The RMU men's lacrosse team opened up the 2024 season with a 23-7 setback to No. 20 Richmond Saturday afternoon. The game was played at Bidwill Stadium on the campus of Georgetown Preparatory School.
1st QUARTER
Richmond got on the board 2:37 into the contest and scored the next six goals before
Nick Pelletier got RMU on the board to make the score 7-1 after the first 15 minutes.
2nd QUARTER
Each team had three goals as Pelletier,
Kean Moon and
James Leary all found the back of the net 3:07 apart to close the gap to 9-4 with 1:31 remaining. UR scored the final goal of the quarter with six seconds to make the score 10-4 heading into halftime.
3rd QUARTER
RMU was outscored 8-2 in the 3
rd quarter. The Colonials got goals from
David Burr and
Colin Davis.
4th QUARTER
Aidan Greco scored the lone goal for RMU.
UP NEXT
RMU will travel to Olean, N.Y. to face St. Bonaventure before its home opener Saturday February 24 against Canisius.
