MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU Women's Basketball dropped a Horizon League matchup on the road against IUPUI, 70-50. With the loss, RMU falls to 6-20 overall and 2-15 in Horizon League action while IUPUI moves to 6-19 on the season and 4-12 in conference play.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
The Colonials never gained the lead in Sunday's matchup but they put the pressure on the Jaguars, especially in the third quarter. RMU outscored IUPUI 20-15 in the third frame and also hit their shots at the charity stripe going 8-10 from the free-throw line in the third quarter. The Colonials were down by as much as 18 to begin the second half but cut the deficit to 10 with less than three minutes left in the third frame.
RMU won the turnover battle against the Jaguars 16-14 but it was IUPUI who turned those mistakes into points as the home team had 21 points off of Colonial turnovers on Sunday afternoon.
DOUBLE-DIGIT DANIELLE
Danielle Vuletich notched another game in double-digits scoring for the Colonials as she finished with 15 points off of six made baskets from the field. Vuletich has nine double-digit scoring games this season which is good for second on the team as
Simone Morris leads the team in that category with 13 games in double figures.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Vuletich led the Colonials with 15 points along with three boards and two assists.
Simone Morris and
Naomi Barnwell each had eight points for the away team with Barnwell also having a team-high four rebounds on the day.
