Opening Draw
- The RMU women's lacrosse team is set to welcome in top ranked Boston College on Thursday afternoon for the Colonials second home contest of the season.
- RMU lost in their home opener to non-conference foe Cincinnati, 15-0. This was the first time the Colonials got shutout since the 2021 season against Notre Dame.
- Freshman midfielder Jenna Evans received the first start of her career against the Bearcats this past Sunday.
- Colleen Tifft leads the Colonials with two goals scored this season while Lilli Hadden has added one goal so far this year.
- The Colonials are returning four decorated members of the team that were rewarded by the MAC during the 2023 season. Colleen Tifft, Chelsea Coleman, Mackenzie Bell, and Jordan Anderson were all recognized for their stellar play last season and are returning for an encore this year.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES (BOSTON COLLEGE) – This will be the first time that RMU will face Boston College in the 20-year history of the program. However, the Colonials have faced off against ACC competition in years past as RMU has a combined record of 1-5 against ACC teams. The one win came against Louisville in 2018 as the Colonials won 13-12 with Dana Davis leading RMU with four goals in the victory.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES – Boston College comes into Thursday's matchup as the number one ranked team in Division I. This will be the first time in RMU history that the Colonials will play a top ranked team in the country. The Eagles are led by junior attack Mckenna Davis who leads the team with 15 points and is also tied for the most assists in the country with 12 on the season so far. Boston College has started the season 3-0 with wins against No. 20 UMass, Albany, and Jacksonville as they've outscored their opponents 52-19 in the early portion of the year.
CLIMBING THE RECORD BOOKS – Graduate Student
Colleen Tifft now has 95 goals in her RMU career which ties her at ninth all-time with 2021 graduate Melanie Gandy. Tifft would become just the ninth Colonial all-time to hit the 100-goal plateau as Mackenzie Gandy owns the record for most career goals with 149.
RUN IT BACK – Joining the Mid-American Conference in 2021, the Colonials have been making a name for themselves the past three seasons. In RMU's first season in the MAC they were crowned champions and the past two years have made the championship game but fell both times to Central Michigan.
