MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Oakland led from wire-to-wire in its 63-43 victory over RMU Thursday night. The Colonials drop their third straight and fall to 10-18, 6-11 HL while the Golden Grizzlies will remain in first place with a 19-10, 14-4 record.
 
1^st HALF
The first 10 minutes was low scoring with Oakland leading 13-9. Trey Townsend's layup followed by a DQ Cole 3-pointer and a Chris Conway dunk gave the Grizzlies its first double-digit lead of the game at 20-9. Their lead would get as high as 15 points after Jack Gohlke's layup made the score 27-12. OU would take a 29-19 advantage into halftime.
 
2^nd HALF
Oakland opened the 2^nd half on an 18-6 run to increase its lead to 47-25 at the 14:21 mark. TJ Wainwright, who returned to the lineup for the first time since February 8, scored the game's next seven points. However, the Grizzlies would score nine of the next 11 points to take a 22-point lead at 6:05.
 
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Alvaro Folgueiras recorded a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds. TJ Wainwright returned to the lineup for the first time since February 8 and scored 11. Markeese Hastings recorded his 800th career rebound. 
 
Townsend finished with game-highs 22 points and 17 rebounds. Cole added 12 points.
 
Oakland got to the free throw line 24 times, while RMU saw the stripe twice.

UP NEXT
RMU remains at the UPMC Events Center for the next two contests. The Colonials will honor Markeese Hastings, Jackson Last and Josh Corbin Sunday, February 25 for Senior Day against Cleveland State. The homestand wraps up Wednesday, February 28 when Northern Kentucky comes to town.
