Moon Township, Pa – RMU women's lacrosse fell at home against top ranked Boston College, 23-2.
With the loss, the Colonials fall to 0-3 in non-conference play. Meanwhile, the Eagles are 3-0 to begin their season.
KEY STATISTICS
Boston College got on the board early and often against the Colonials as the Eagles scored 13 goals in the first quarter to jump out to a big lead. Belle Smith scored two goals in the first quarter for BC as she finished the game with the most goals on the team with four.
The Colonials got on the board with five minutes remaining in the second quarter courtesy of
Lilli Hadden who notched her second goal of the season. RMU wouldn't strike again until the fourth frame when
Jenna Irwin recorded the second goal of the game for the Colonials which would end up being their last.
Jordan Anderson led the home team with three draw controls as she is now tied for the team lead so far this year with six total draw controls.
SEASON FIRSTS
Junior midfielder
Jenna Irwin registered her first goal of the 2024 campaign as she also had two shots on goal which was a team-high against the Eagles.
Haylee Handrahan notched her first point of the young season as she set up Irwin perfectly on a centering pass to get the Colonials on the board again.
Maggie Boyle also recorded her first point of the season as she tallied an assist on RMU's first goal of the game by
Lilli Hadden in the second frame.

RMU will have a day off before they hit the road and travel to play in-state foe Bucknell. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday and can be seen on ESPN+.
