MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Hunter Parucki scored 42 seconds into overtime to lead Canisius to a 9-8 victory over RMU on Saturday evening at Joe Walton Stadium.
1st QUARTER
David Burr got RMU on the board first on an unassisted goal. The Golden Griffins came back with four straight tallies to close out the quarter.
2nd QUARTER
Elliot Holden scored a pair of goals 12 seconds apart to make the score 4-3 at the 3:32 mark of the 2
nd quarter. He added a third with 0:0.1 remaining on the clock to send the game into halftime trailing 5-4.
3rd QUARTER
Will MacLeod was the only player to find the back of the net in the 3
rd quarter as his goal at the 4:31 mark tied the match at 5-5.
4th QUARTER
Ben Starkey and
Eric Swagerty opened the 4
th quarter scoring to put RMU ahead 7-5 at 12:10. However Canisius would answer with three consecutive goals before Holden's fourth goal with 1:42 left sent the match into overtime.
OVERTIME
Although the Colonials won the draw, they had a turnover which Canisius capitalized on with the game-winner.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- RMU outshout Canisius 40-36 and had 23 on target to the Griffins 16

UP NEXT
RMU plays it next three matches on the road beginning with Hobart Saturday, March 2. They return to Joe Walton Stadium to face Detroit Mercy Wednesday, March 20.
