GENEVA, N.Y. – The RMU men's lacrosse team dropped a 15-10 decision to Hobart on Saturday afternoon. The setback drops the Colonials to 1-3 on the year, while the Statesmen improve to 2-3.
1st QUARTER
RMU got on the board first when
Ben Starkey found the back of the net 2:46 into the contest. Hobart answered with four straight goals before Starkey,
Aidan Greco and
Elliot Holden closed out the 1
st quarter scoring with the score tied at 4-4.
2nd QUARTER
The Statesmen had a big 2
nd quarter with seven goal. Holden and Starkey scored for the Colonials as they trailed at halftime 11-6.
3rd QUARTER
After Hobart scored 34 seconds into the 3
rd quarter, Holden and
David Burr recorded goals to make the score 12-8 heading into the final quarter.
4th QUARTER
Holden's goal at 8:59 kept the Colonials within four, but that was as close as it got.
Will MacLeod closed out the match scoring at 1:39 remaining.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Holden finished with match with four goals and four ground balls while Starkey added three goals
- James Leary had a match-best five caused turnovers along with three ground balls
- 21 of RMU's 25 shots were on target

RMU plays it next two matches on the road with No. 3 Virginia on Tuesday Saturday, March 5 and Jacksonville on Saturday March 16. They return to Joe Walton Stadium to face Detroit Mercy Wednesday, March 20.
