ERIE, Pa. – Mercyhurst's two straight wins earns them a spot in the 2024 CHA Final at Penn State after beating the Colonials, 6-1. RMU finished the 2023-24 campaign with a 15-19-1 overall record. Mercyhurst heads to Penn State with a 20-16-1 overall record.
 
1^st PERIOD
- In the opening period, Mercyhurst powered their way to a 3-0 lead.
- The Lakers held the edge in shots, 14-11 through the first 20 minutes. 

2^nd PERIOD
- Through the middle frame, the home side added in two more goals to extend their lead, 5-0.
- Chantal Ste-Croix netted in her second goal of the game.
- The Colonials led in shots this period, 12-8. 

3^rd PERIOD
- Seven minutes into the final period, graduate forward Shailynn Snow put RMU on the board, scoring a wrister off a feed from Alaina Giampietro behind the net.
- Closing out the game, with two minutes left and the goalie pulled, the Lakers put the puck in the empty net to secure a 6-1 victory. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Over 60 minutes, the Colonials ended the game, taking no penalties. Each team finished with 32 shots on goal. Shailynn Snow recorded the most, peppering six on frame. Also, in the faceoff circle, Snow won a team-high eight draws, owning an 80% win-percentage. Defensively, captain Wasyn Rice blocked a team leading two shots. And, playing the final 40 minutes in net, graduate goaltender Emma Gorski registered 15 saves.
 
FINISHING STRONG
Closing out the 2023-24 campaign, freshman Alaina Giampietro produced a point in her last six contests. She totaled four goals and three assists in that time frame. From Strongsville, Ohio, Giampietro posted five goals and five assists in seven games against the Lakers this season. Today, graduate forward Shailynn Snow and graduate defenseman Chloé Puddifant played in their 150^th career game. Snow scored her 37^th career goal and finished her career with 101 points. Puddifant recorded seven assists over her last eight games and ended her career producing seven goals and 57 assists.
