Columbus, Ohio – RMU Women's Lacrosse opened its season with a loss on the road against Ohio State, 19-3.
With the loss, the Colonials fall to 0-1 to begin the season. Meanwhile, the Buckeyes start the year 1-0.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Ohio State started the game with three goals in the first three minutes to put the Colonials on their heels. RMU got on the board with 10:47 remaining in the first quarter when graduate student
Colleen Tifft notched her first goal of the season to trim the lead. The Buckeyes would score two more goals in the first but it was
Lilli Hadden who cut the lead to two when she netted her first goal of the season with 6:47 left in the first frame. The Colonials would score their third and final goal during the third quarter when TIfft tallied her second goal of the game with 3:10 remaining in the frame.
SEASON FIRSTS
Two different Colonials notched goals for the blue and white led by Tifft who registered two goals for the Colonials.
Lilli Hadden netted her first goal of the season during the third quarter of play. Junior goalkeeper
Sydney Riker made her first start in net for the 2024 campaign.
CAREER FIRSTS
A plethora of Colonials saw their first game action for the Colonials while others made their first starts. Attacker
Lizzie Paterno made her first career start against the Buckeyes while freshmen
Jenna Evans and
Anabel Kreydt saw their first action in a Robert Morris uniform. Freshman goalkeeper
Megan Shepley also got her first game experience as she recorded five saves in 30 minutes played.
UP NEXT
Robert Morris returns to action on Sunday, February 18, when they come back home to host Cincinnati for a non-conference match beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Joe Walton Stadium.
