RMU Women's Lacrosse Finishes Road Trip with Loss to Mount St. Mary's

Box Score Emmitsburg, Md– The RMU Women's Lacrosse team fell on the road in the last of their five-game road trip to Mount St. Mary's, 15-6.

With the loss, the Colonials drop to 1-7 on the season. Additionally, Mount St. Mary's picks up their second win of the year.

1st HALF
The Colonials didn't get off to the start they hoped for as the Mountaineers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead just seven minutes into the game. RMU didn't record their first goal until the 14:38 mark in the second quarter when Lilli Hadden found the back of the net for her team-leading 11th goal of the season. The Colonials were out shot 25-6 in the first half as RMU just wasn't able to find their offensive rhythm in the early going.

2ND HALF
Mount St. Mary's continued to flourish on offense to start the third quarter as they scored three straight goals to begin the frame. The Colonials didn't find the back of the net until there was 6:20 remaining in the third when Chelsea Coleman netted her third goal of the season. RMU would strike again five minutes later when Colleen Tifft scored her first goal of the game to steer the momentum towards the Colonials side.

Maya Metz started the scoring in the fourth quarter as the Colonials cut the lead to seven at the beginning of the frame. Two minutes later, Jerica Obee picked up a goal for the visiting Colonials but RMU was still looking at a major deficit. The Mountaineers would answer with three straight goals to push their lead to 10 against the Colonials. Before the final whistle, Isabella Teal tallied the final RMU goal with 12 seconds remaining as she notched the fifth goal of her freshman campaign.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
RMU had six different goal scorers against the Mountaineers including Colleen Tifft, Isabella Teal, Chelsea Coleman, Jerica Obee, Maya Metz, and Lilli Hadden. Along with Teal's goal she also led the team with three ground balls on the defensive side.

UP NEXT
RMU will come back home this weekend for a rare back to back slate of games against Canisius and Akron. First, the Colonials will host Canisius on Saturday which is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time and the next day will feature RMU hosting Akron in the first conference matchup starting at 12:00 p.m.
