LOUISVILLE – Bellarmine scored nine consecutive goals to turn a four-goal deficit into a five-goal lead in its 15-12 victory over RMU on Wednesday afternoon.
1st QUARTER
Ethan Hecht got RMU on the board at 7:04 before back-to-back goals from BU put the Knights ahead 3-1.
River Oudemool's got the momentum going for RMU at 3:18, which was the first of six consecutive goals by the Colonials.
David Burr and
Elliot Holden each scored inside the final 10 seconds of the quarter, giving RMU a 4-3 lead.
2nd QUARTER
Ben Starkey's goal sandwiched between two Burr goals put the Colonials ahead 7-3 at 7:19 mark. However this in when Bellarmine caught fire, scoring the final four goals of the quarter to send the matching into halftime deadlocked at 7-7.
3rd QUARTER
Bellarmine outscored RMU 5-0 in the quarter to take a 12-7 lead.
4th QUARTER
Will MacLeod broke the 9-0 run at 13:06 to get RMU within four goals at 12-8. The Knights would score the next two before Oudemool and Starkey kept it at four goals with 7:28. Burr would add one more at 6:69 and MacLeod knocked home his second of the contest with 2:30 left, but that would be the final scoring of the afternoon.
