MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Head coach Logan Bittle of the RMU women's hockey team announced today that four student-athletes have transferred to join the Colonials for the 2024-25 season. Forwards Veronica Bac, Maddy Coene, Ashlyn Ham and goaltender Lucy Phillips join RMU as part of the latest recruiting class.

"This group brings in a great deal of experience and we look forward to them bringing that experience to the Colonial family," stated Bittle. "To be able to add this type of talent to our young core and incoming first-year players is very exciting. We can't wait for the puck to drop in the 2024-25 season."

An incoming redshirt-freshman, Lucy Phillips joins the Colonials after playing her freshman season at Quinnipiac. From Upper Tantallon, Nova Scotia, the netminder brings tons of success on her resume as she was a member of the U18 Canadian Team that won the gold medal at IIHF Worlds in 2022.

Phillips was a previous member of the Cambridge Rivulettes of OWHA U22 Elite. Before that she was the assistant captain for the Halifax Western Capitals U18 AAA team in 2021-22. She won the Top Goaltender Award with the Western Capitals.

Also, transferring from Quinnipiac is forward Veronica Bac. From Huntley, Ill., she enters her final year of collegiate hockey after playing three seasons for the Bobcats.

Over her NCAA career, Bac has played in 112 games, owning 14 goals, four assists and 18 points. Before college she played for the Chicago Mission.

The Colonials have also added Maddy Coene, an incoming graduate from Providence College.

Originating from Clayton, N.Y., Coene spent four seasons at Providence. Coene played in 112 games including 97 consecutive contests for the Friars. Across her first four seasons, she's produced five goals, 17 assists and 22 points in her career.

Before Providence, Coene attended Selects Academy at Bishop Kearney and was named the team captain for her final season. She helped lead the team to four NYS Championships and competed for the Syracuse Nationals from 2014 to 2016.

And, rounding out the transfers is another forward in Ashlyn Ham from Clarkson.

Residing from Framingham, Mass., Ham red-shirted this past year and arrives to RMU with 26 games played in her young career.

Prior to college, she played for the East Coast Wizards from 2020 to 2022. Ham also attended the 2018 and 2019 USA Hockey National Evaluation Camp.

Led by Bittle, who enters his second season as head coach, the Colonials returned to the ice for the 2023-24 campaign qualifying for the 2024 CHA Playoff Tournament. RMU posted a 15-19-1 (.443) overall record and were 11-8-1 (.576) in conference play.
