THE ALL-TIME SERIES (EASTERN MICHIGAN) – There has only been one game in the series history as the matchup took place last season when RMU soundly defeated Eastern Michigan, 19-7. The Colonials had five players who scored two goals including Irwin, Hadden, Tifft, and
Julia Koterwas. RMU also had six players tally one goal as it was the most goals scored for the Colonials in one game during the 2023 season.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES – Eastern Michigan goes into Saturday's matchup with a 4-1 conference record as their only loss came against Central Michigan last Saturday. The Eagles are led by Mackenzie Blackwell who is second in the MAC with 48 goals and averages 3.43 goals per game. Eastern Michigan is currently slotted as the number two seed in the MAC standings a week before postseason play begins.
CLINCHED – After last week's matchups in the MAC it was determined that RMU has clinched one of the four spots in the championship tournament. The postseason bracket will be revealed on Saturday after the final regular season games conclude. If RMU defeats Eastern Michigan on Saturday then the Colonials will be the number two seed and would face the Eagles again in the first round of the tournament. Furthermore, if the Colonials fall tomorrow they would be the number four seed and would matchup against top-seeded Central Michigan in the first game of the tournament.
RUN IT BACK – Joining the Mid-American Conference in 2021, the Colonials have been making a name for themselves the past three seasons. In RMU's first season in the MAC they were crowned champions and the past two years have made the championship game but fell both times to Central Michigan.
