ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland avoided being swept by winning 7-4 in the series finale. RMU is now 18-21 overall and 13-10 in conference play. 
GAME 3
- To begin the series finale, the Colonials jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. 
- Then, centerfielder 
Jess Matheny singled down the right field line, scoring two runs. 
 
- Oakland quickly responded with two runs in the bottom of the first. 
- Continuing the scoring early, the Colonials added another run in the second. 
- Hopf scored her second run of the game as 
Avery Winchell got on base on an error by Oakland's defense. 
 
- Over the next four innings, the Golden Grizzlies added in five more runs and went on to win 7-4. 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
RMU outhit Oakland 12-11 in game three of the series. Senior 
Charlotte Grover had three of those hits, going 3 for 4 on the day. Hole one and hole two hitters 
Kaylyn Hopf and 
Anna Resnik each recorded two hits. 
 
MILESTONE REACHED
With an RBI on RMU's first score of the game, senior 
Catalina Saxen officially reached 50 career RBI's. From East Patchogue, N.Y., she's produced 84 hits, 28 runs and six home runs in her career. This season, she's batting .303. 
 
UP NEXT
RMU's conference schedule is now complete for the regular season. Before playoffs, the Colonials have two non-conference series ahead. RMU will play at Pitt this Tuesday at 6:00 PM.
