PITTSBURGH – RMU women's lacrosse lost in a non-conference match against in-state foe Pitt, 19-2.

With the loss, the Colonials drop to 3-11, 2-2 MAC while the Panthers improved to 4-10, 0-7 ACC.

1^st HALF
RMU came out firing to start the game as the Colonials had 10 total shots with seven of those being on goal. The Panthers scored the first three goals of the game before Chelsea Coleman drilled her seventh goal of the season at the 9:05 mark. Pitt would immediately follow up with three more goals to end the first quarter with a 6-1 lead.

The Colonials didn't start the second quarter the way they were hoping for as they had just two shots and eight turnovers in the frame. Jenna Irwin scored the lone goal in the quarter with just two seconds remaining in the first half.  

2^ND HALF
RMU was shutout in the second half of play and were only able to muster four shots in the two quarters. The Colonials however did force seven turnovers in the second half as they continued to apply pressure on the Panthers.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Chelsea Coleman and Jenna Irwin each led the Colonials with one goal as both tallies came unassisted. Megan Shepley and Sydney Riker split time against the Panthers as they combined for nine saves in the game.

UP NEXT
The Colonials will return home this Saturday when they host Youngstown State at Joe Walton Stadium. Game time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+.
