THE ALL-TIME SERIES (DETROIT MERCY) – These two teams battled it out just over a month ago at Joe Walton Stadium when Detroit Mercy defeated the Colonials, 12-9. Jenna Irwin led RMU with three goals while adding four draw controls and two ground balls. The Colonials dug themselves in a hole as they trailed 5-0 after the first quarter and weren't able to complete the comeback in time. RMU still holds a 9-2 advantage in the series history as before the previous contest the Colonials won six in a row against the Titans.

SCOUTING THE TITANS – Detroit Mercy enters the MAC Championship game after defeating top seeded Central Michigan in the semifinals, 11-10. The Titans feature the MAC Offensive Player of the Year Cat Kopchia who led the team with five points in the win on Thursday. Detroit Mercy has won three games in a row going into the championship game and are searching for their first MAC Championship title.

POSTSEASON SUCCESS – This will be the third straight year that the Colonials have reached the MAC Tournament since RMU joined the conference in 2021. The Colonials won the MAC title outright after the 2021 regular season and since then RMU has lost to Central Michigan twice in the championship game.
