MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU Men's Basketball Pat Gallagher Head Coach
Andrew Toole has announced the Colonials' 2024-25 roster.
"As we round out our roster for the 2024-25 season, there were a number of areas we felt we needed to improve upon, beginning with our ability to guard the basketball. We wanted to find some guys that were athletic, aggressive and committed to the defensive side of the floor as well as guys that can create an advantage offensively – those were our number one priorities," said Toole.
Joining the seven returning players are:
Amarion Dickerson | Jr. | Guard/Forward
A two-year starter at Mineral Area College, Dickerson finished the 2023-24 season as the nation's top JUCO shot blocker, third in total rebounds and fourth in steals. He led the Cardinals to a 29-3 record and a berth in the Region 16 championship game while averaging 12.6 points per game.
Maurio Hanson, Jr. | Fr. | Guard
A true freshman, Hanson was a standout at Chambers High School in Charlotte. A four-time Queen City All-Conference selection and two-time North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association All-District selection, Hanson finished his senior season averaging 15.5 points per game, 8.5 rebounds per game with 16 double-doubles and a pair of triple-doubles.
Dilen Miller | Fr. | Guard
A 2024 Southwest McDonald's All-American nominee, Miller finished his post-grad career with Inspire (Ariz.) Prep after playing one season at Compass (Ariz.) Prep. Additionally, he played at The Christ Academy (Texas) where he averaged 27.2 points, 13.2 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 5.8 steals. He also played AAU for Team Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.
Josh Omojafo | Jr. | Guard
Omojafo comes to RMU after spending the last two seasons at Division II Gannon. The 6-5 guard is coming off a season where he averaged 20.0 points while shooting 48.2% from the field. He was the second leading scorer in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) with 699 points, which was the second-highest single-season total in Gannon history. He set a single-season GU record with 244 free throws made.
Ismael Plet | Gr. | Forward
Plet joins the Colonials after being a two-year starter at Arkansas Pine-Bluff. This past season, he led UAPB and was second in SWAC with 7.4 rebounds per game while averaging 7.5 points per game and shooting 59.1% from the field. Plet began his career at Oral Roberts.
Ryan Prather Jr. | So. | Guard
At Akron, Prather Jr. redshirted the 2022-23 season before appearing in 15 contests at Akron last year, shooting 47.4 percent from the field. He finished his high school career as the program's all-time leading scorer at Clarksburg (Md.) in three years before playing his senior season at Bishop Walsh (Md.) and a post-graduate season at Liberty Heights Athletic Institute in Charlotte.
DJ Smith | Sr. | Guard
Smith played eight games for Bowling Green last season before missing the remainder of the season with an injury. He played his first two seasons at Little Rock, where he was a two-year starter. In his sophomore season at Little Rock, he averaged 10.4 points per game and recorded 16 double-figure games.
Kam Woods | Sr. | Guard
Woods was on the NC State team that advanced to the Final Four last season. He played in 18 games for the Wolfpack after being cleared by the NCAA in December 2023. Prior to his time in Raleigh, he was the leading scorer at North Carolina A&T, averaging 17.3 points per game. Woods also played at Northwest Florida State Community College and Troy.
"Rim protection was another area we wanted to address. Now we have more length and size. Working with them in the summer for a few weeks, there's a long way to go, but we're excited about the potential of this group coming together with our returning players and creating a really good, competitive team for the 2024-25 season," added Toole.
