TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The RMU women's soccer team concluded their road trip with a 4-0 defeat to Indiana State, who improved to 3-0-0 on the season. The Colonials now hold a 1-1-1 record to start their 2024 campaign.
FIRST HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- The Sycamores struck early, converting their first shot of the game within the opening five minutes to take a 1-0 lead.
- RMU responded with several scoring opportunities but couldn't find the back of the net.
- In the 19th minute, Indiana State doubled their lead after a free kick deflected off an RMU player and into the goal.
- Just before halftime, in the 41st minute, Carson Bogan received a caution.
SECOND HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- Indiana State continued their momentum, adding a third goal early in the second half with Lina Fasquelle netting her first of the season.
- In the 61st minute, Caitlin Mullen made it 4-0 by capitalizing on a rebound from her initial shot.
- RMU managed three more shots in the final stages of the game but couldn't break through.

The Colonials tallied 12 shots, with seven on target, led by midfielders
Ava Trethewey and
Madison Hurst, who each recorded three shots. RMU earned seven corner kicks and controlled 45% of the possession. Defensively, goalkeeper
Brenna Murray matched her career-high with eight saves for the second consecutive match.
Carson Bogan, from Upper St. Clair, Pa., made her season debut, playing 37 minutes in the midfield. Goalkeeper
Morgan Brustman also saw her first action of 2024, coming in for the final 14 minutes.
