GREENSBORO, N.C. – The RMU Volleyball team dropped their first match against UNC Greensboro, 3-1, but bounced back to secure a hard-fought victory over South Carolina Upstate, 3-2.
Game 1: RMU vs. UNC Greensboro
- In the opening match, UNC Greensboro started strong, winning the first two sets with commanding performances. The Spartans recorded 15 kills with a .344 hitting percentage in the first set and followed up with 18 kills and a .516 hitting percentage in the second set.
- RMU responded in the third set, putting up 14 kills and a .387 hitting percentage to stay alive.
- However, the fourth set went in favor of UNC Greensboro, who sealed the match with 13 kills and a .345 hitting percentage.

Hillarie Adams and sophomore middle blocker
Azra Eric were standouts for the Colonials. Adams contributed nine kills, 25 attacks, and five blocks, totaling 11.5 points, while Eric led the game defensively with eight blocks.
Game 2: RMU vs. South Carolina Upstate
- The second match of the day saw RMU face off against South Carolina Upstate in a closely contested five-set battle.
- South Carolina Upstate took control early, winning the first two sets with 11 kills and a .219 hitting percentage in the first set, followed by 13 kills in the second set.
- RMU found their rhythm in the third set, which featured intense back-and-forth action. The Colonials secured the third set with 14 kills and carried that momentum into the fourth and fifth sets to complete the comeback victory.

Sophomore outside hitter
Jocelyn Jourdan was a key player for RMU in game two, leading the match in kills (17) and attacks (52). Jourdan and South Carolina Upstate's junior middle blocker Ady O'Grady both tied for the most total points with 19.5.
