ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – A late goal from the Bonnies gave St. Bonaventure a 2-1 win over the Colonials, dropping RMU to 3-3-2 overall in the 2024 season.
FIRST HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- Forward John Paul Mbuthia created early chances for the Colonials, with a close shot in the 8th minute going wide left.
- St. Bonaventure scored on their first shot attempt in the 17th minute.
- RMU earned three more corner kicks but ended the half trailing 1-0.
SECOND HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- The game turned physical as Logan Gilley and Fabian Overkamp received yellow cards in the 64th and 73rd minutes.
- RMU began to gain momentum as they hit the post twice with shots from William Dodzi Afawubo and Kai McLoughlin.
- In the 82nd minute, Wil Hornbaker was brought down in the box, earning a penalty kick, which junior Anass Hadran converted, tying the match at 1-1.
- Minutes later, Hadran and an SBU player were each shown yellow cards.
- St. Bonaventure's Andres Javitt scored a bicycle kick in the 87th minute, sealing the 2-1 victory.

RMU recorded 10 shots, with two on target, while SBU managed eight shots with three on goal. The Colonials also dominated on corner kicks (9-4). Both goalkeepers made one save each. Center backs
Gabe Norris and
Fabian Overkamp, along with Hadran, played the full 90 minutes. Sophomores
Wil Hornbaker and
Chase Alexandre logged career-high minutes. Hadran's penalty goal marked his first of the season, bringing his total to five points (1g, 3a).
