MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's soccer team returns to the North Athletic Complex on Thursday, September 5, to host Akron. Kickoff is at 4:00 PM, with the match streaming live on ESPN+. Spencer Witt and Joey Jirmasek will be on the call.

RMU LATELY
The Colonials (1-3-1) are coming off a 2-0 loss at WVU. Graduate goalkeeper Brenna Murray made six saves in that match, bringing her season total to 23. Offensively, Emerson Johngarlo and Paloma Swankler have been the team's primary goal scorers, each netting two goals this season. Freshman Madison Hurst leads the team in assists with two.

ALL-TIME VS. AKRON
Since 2001, RMU and Akron have faced off seven times. The Colonials earned their first victory against the Zips last year, winning 3-0 in Akron. The second half of that game saw an offensive explosion, with Malia Kearns scoring her first goal of the season off an assist from Renae Mohrbacher. RMU alum Lidia Nduka sealed the victory with a brace, assisted by Emily Rocco and Taylor Day.

SCOUTING AKRON
The Zips (3-0-1) are off to an undefeated start in the 2024 season. Akron has secured wins against Iona (2-1), and Horizon League members Oakland and Wright State (both 1-0). Their only tie was a 1-1 draw at Eastern Illinois. Senior midfielder Ella Hadley leads the team with two goals, while senior midfielder Morgan Pentz has recorded two assists. Freshman defender Kailyn Biecker has been a key part of the back line, playing all 90 minutes in each of Akron's four games. Last season, Akron finished with a 3-14-1 overall record and went 1-9-1 in MAC play.
