MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU (9-5, 1-2 HL) hits the road for a pair of games in Michigan beginning with Detroit Mercy (5-10, 1-3) on January 2.
RMU LATELY
RMU won its third straight game after
Alvaro Folgueiras and
Amarion Dickerson combined for 48 points and 34 rebounds in the Colonials' 97-93 triple overtime victory against Northern Kentucky on December 29. This was the first time in the 1,448 games as a program RMU has played a triple overtime game. RMU is 1-4 on the road this season.
DETROIT MERCY LATELY
Detroit Mercy dropped its last five contests dating back to December 7 after its 73-64 loss at Youngstown State on December 29. The Titans are 3-2 at Calihan Hall this season.
RMU AND DETROIT MERCY HISTORY
The schools first met in 2009 at the 2K Sports Classic in Albany, N.Y. They did not meet again until 2021 when RMU joined the Horizon League. Including the neutral site game, UDM won the first six contests with RMU taking the last three contests.

Stephaun Walker scored a career-high 21 points while
Josh Corbin (20 points and 11 rebounds) and
Markeese Hastings (10 points and 10 rebounds) each added a double-double in RMU's 75-67 victory over Detroit Mercy on February 3, 2024.

REMEMBERING EARL CURETON
Thursday's contest will pay tribute to former Robert Morris and Detroit Mercy legend Earl Cureton. Cureton passed away on February 4 after broadcasting the Titans and Colonials' last meeting the previous say. Cureton is a Hall of Famer at both institutions, enshrined at Robert Morris in 1991 and Detroit Mercy in 2007.
NATIONAL LEADERS
Dickerson is currently second in the nation in blocks with 39 and fifth with 2.8 blocks per game. Folgueiras is sixth in the NCAA with 11.4 rebounds per game and second with 160 total rebounds. He is seventh with seven double-doubles this season.
UP NEXT
RMU remains on the road when they travel to Oakland on January 4. They return to the UPMC Events Center to host Cleveland State on January 8 and Wright State on January 12.
