Colonials Drop Matchup Against Green Bay

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU women's basketball fell at home against Green Bay in conference action, 78-48. The Colonials own a 5-11 record while now dropping to 1-6 in Horizon League play.


FIRST QUARTER
  • RMU played their best offensive basketball of the day in this quarter as the Colonials shot 42 percent from the field
  • Both teams went bucket for bucket in the early going with RMU seeing their only lead of the game halfway through the frame.
  • After RMU held an 8-7 lead Green Bay would go on a 12-5 run to close out the quarter and have a six-point advantage.
SECOND QUARTER
  • The Colonials struggled shooting in this stanza scoring nine points and only attempting nine shots from the field.
  • Green Bay only shot 30 percent from the floor but continued to out rebound RMU to secure second-chance opportunities. The Phoenix also scored seven points off of RMU turnovers in the frame compared to the Colonials who had two points off of Green Bay giveaways. The Colonials would go into the break down 35-22.
THIRD QUARTER
  • Green Bay came out of the half ready to shoot the ball at will as the Phoenix made a game-high four three-pointers in the frame.
  • RMU struggled in the quarter from the floor shooting just 24 percent from the field with the lone bright spot being Micah O'Dell who hit two impressive threes on back to back possessions.
 FOURTH QUARTER
  • The Colonials had to try and work their way back into the game and did so by way of the three ball in this frame.
  • RMU guard Katelyn Chomko found a heat stroke from beyond the arc scoring all nine of her points in this stanza from three-point land.
  • Green Bay would withstand the RMU attack and score 19 points of their own in this frame and would go onto win, 78-48.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Micah O'Dell filled the stat sheet for RMU today as she led the Colonials with 11 points while also having a team-high two steals. Katelyn Chomko scored nine points in her second consecutive start this season for RMU.
 
UP NEXT
The Colonials will stay at home and face Cleveland State next Wednesday at the UPMC Events Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. and can be seen streaming live on ESPN+.
