Maggie Hatch has been named to the Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) Women's Goalie of the Year Watch List for the second consecutive year, as announced by the HCA on Tuesday afternoon.
Hatch has been a standout in net this season, recording 604 saves, six wins, including two shutouts, and boasting an impressive .925 save percentage.
Since joining the Colonials, Hatch has built an exceptional resume: 42 career appearances, 15 wins, 1,393 saves, three shutouts, career .923 save percentage, 30+ saves in 17 games and 12 games with 40+ saves.
Hatch's impact was felt immediately during her freshman campaign, earning her a spot on the CHA All-Rookie Team (2023-24). She has since been recognized with three CHA Goaltender of the Week awards and one Goaltender of the Month honor.
The Women's HCA announced a "Watch List" of 33 goaltenders who could vie for the title of 2025 National Women's Goalie of the Year. The award was created in 2021 to recognize the top female goalie in NCAA Division I hockey.
The goalies to watch come from all five NCAA Division I conferences with 17 from the United States, nine from Canada and seven from Europe (two from Finland and Sweden and one each from Austria, Denmark and Slovenia.)
This initial "Watch List" of outstanding goalies is comprised of those with a goals against average of 2.10 or lower or a save percentage of .920 or higher. A committee of voters – made up of a cross section of coaches, administrators, and media – will pare this list down within the next two weeks and then ultimately choose the winner who will be announced in March during the NCAA Frozen Four.
