RMU Men's Hockey Continues Homestand Against Army

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. The RMU men's hockey team continues its homestand with a two-game series against Army this weekend. The opener is set for Friday, January 24 at 7:00 PM, with the series finale scheduled for Saturday, January 25 at 5:00 PM. Fans can catch both games live on FloHockey, with Friday night's contest also airing on SportsNet Pittsburgh. Commentary will be provided by Tim Benz and Mike Prisuta, with Katie Gaus reporting on Friday.
 
RECENT FORM
RMU (9-11-3, 6-7-2 #AHA) enters the series after a split with RIT. The Colonials delivered a dominant 6-1 win in the opener but narrowly fell 3-2 in the finale. Freshman Trent Wilson impressed with a goal, three assists, and 16 faceoff wins. Additional key contributors included:

The Colonials hold a 14-10-6 (.567) record against Army in a series that began in 2011. Seven games have gone to overtime, and RMU has shut out Army four times. Last season, the teams split a series, with Tanner Klimpke and Luke van Why each finding the back of the net in the finale.
 
SCOUTING ARMY
Army (9-15-0, 9-8-0 #AHA) comes into the series riding a four-game win streak. They recently swept Air Force with scores of 3-2 and 4-3 (OT), after setting an AHA record with 22 goals in a sweep of Mercyhurst.
Key players to watch include:
  • Mac Gadowsky: Leads the team in goals (10), assists (14), and points (24).
  • Nik Hong: Tied with Gadowsky for most power-play goals (3).
  • Easton Zueger: Defensively leads with 50 blocked shots.
  • JJ Cataldo: In net, Cataldo has earned eight wins with one shutout, posting a .926 save percentage in 18 appearances.

RMU will host Canisius in a single-game matchup at Clearview Arena on Tuesday, January 28, with puck drop set for 7:00 PM.
